People/Culture: The people of Indonesia are mostly Muslim. They speak Bahasa Indonesia, English, Dutch, and Malay. Batik, the art of applying wax to cloth and tie-dying in colorful designs, is done throughout Indonesia. People like to come to Indonesia because of the islands that are very warm because of the equator. Some activities include snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, surfing, rafting, and even climbing some of the mountains and volcanoes. Geography: Indonesia is an archipelago between the
Indian Ocean and The Pacific Ocean. The capital is Jakarta. Indonesia is slightly less than three times the size of Texas. The Flores and Java Seas separate the northern part from the southern part. Gunung Bromo in Java and Agung in Bali are two mountains in Indonesia.
History: The spread of Islam was started in the 14th century was influenced by the Majapahit Kingdom. Indonesia has had many kingdoms including the Majapahit kingdom, Meleka Kingdom, and many others.
