Mike's Story At the age of 15, (already a rock & roll addict) Mike started borrowing his older sister's box guitar, trying to imitate his favorite guitar heroes, (Ted Nugent, David Gilmour, Joe Perry, & Angus Young ext.) It didn't take long before he saved up some money for an electric guitar & never looked back. A few years later met a drummer ( Doug Mayersky) at school .The two started jam'in & realized they had a song writing chemistry. Mike met Steve Andricks around this time. Steve being older and already in established bands, they didn't do much jaming at this point but found a creative link between them. After High school Doug went to college & Mike went to a local Tech. College thus parting ways for a while. From High School to the age of 21 Mike played in several garage bands making little to no money. At 21 looking to make some cash, he joined an established country band called Blacksmith. After a year, Mike found that country music was not the path he wanted to go down. After meeting back up with Doug they formed Free Company with Rob Wilson & Keith Lyerla later changed to Anvil Axis. They wrote music & toured the local circuit for a couple years. After a few member changes Doug left to join Southbound , Mike & Rob formed Disposition. They toured the local circuit until 1990. At one point playing backup to Foghat. In the 90's Mike & Doug & Steve, tired of getting nowhere in the local circuit worked on building a studio to record a lot of back logged music. The end of 1994, the studio was finished. After trying out a few musicians the next couple of years a keyboardist was found in Ron Stilibower. After a lot of jamming, writing & a few gigs, Long was formed.
